Stitchin' Mission (

Stitchin’ Mission is an interdenominational, community-building ministry, teaching beginner quiltmaking in a faith-filled, encouraging, and fun environment resulting in quilts for missions throughout the world.

As of December 2011, Stitchin' Mission has donated over 1,000 quilts to missions in 13 countries around the world.

My Brother's Keeper Ugly Quilt Project
The Ugly Quilt Project began in 1985 when founder Flo Wheatley devised the process of making sleeping bags for the homeless from scrap material. The idea grew and is carried on by a group of women in Prairie City, Iowa.

Last year, the group made 2500 quilts. To date they've made over 16,000. While the majority of quilts are distributed to Des Moines area shelters and outreach programs, these labors of love have gone to victims of disasters around the world, including New Orleans, Kentucky, Africa, Mexico and Haiti.
